star-book

Free and open to the public. Maximum 16 students. Registration required.

This gorgeous book format is sure to amaze. Combining pop-up and book art techniques, the Star Book transforms book into sculpture. Artist Wynn Yarrow demonstrates book construction, step-by-step, and allows creative freedom through theme and design. Participants will complete a hard covered book in one session. Materials are provided, although participants may wish to bring special papers or copies of photographs.

To register, contact Erica Underman at unterman2@stls.org or call (607) 936 – 3713 ext 213.

Wynn Yarrow‘s work has been exhibited in 11 colleges and universities, most recently at Northeastern Seminary, Rochester, NY.  Yarrow’s work has been exhibited in the national celebration of dark skies, Night Vision, in Flagstaff AZ, and in the invitation-only Representing  Representation at the Arnot Art Museum, Elmira NY.  Her work has been exhibited in the eponymous Prince Edward Island gallery of Pilar Shepard, former curator of the Whitney Museum. Yarrow is the ongoing artist-in-residence of The Rockwell Museum, Corning, NY, a Smithsonian affiliate.

This project is made possible, in part, with public funds from NYSCA’s Decentralization Program, administered regionally by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes, with additional funding from the Foundation for Southern Tier Libraries.
