Each year in January and February, the Friends of the Southeast Steuben County Library present a lunchtime series of book talks featuring local speakers reviewing notable new works of fiction and nonfiction. Book talks are held on Wednesdays at the Southeast Steuben County Library’s Laura Beer Community Room from 12:10 -1 pm. The talks are open to the general public and free of charge. Beverages are provided and attendees are invited to bring a bagged lunch.
Jan. 4 – Ristiina Wigg will review The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende.
Jan. 11 – Bob Walker will review Being Mortal by Atul Gawande.
Jan. 18 – Michelle Wells will review Vinegar Girl by Anne Tyler.
Jan. 25 – Cathy Patterson will review Louisa: The Extraordinary Life of Mrs. Adams by Louisa Thomas.
Feb. 1 – Kristine Taylor will review Lab Girl by Hope Jahren.
Feb. 8 – Two Writers, One Great Sense of Humor. Elizabeth Whitehouse will review The Road to Little Dribbling by Bill Bryson and Grunt by Mary Roach.
Feb. 15 – CPPHS students will review a Young Adult Book TBA.
